New governance models are being released as part of the national realignment process.  At this point, our motto is “stay tuned.”  Girl Scouting has always been committed to the democratic process.  Structures are developing which are very responsive and “nimble.”

The Governance Sub-Committee announced that the boards of directors of the five legacy councils have approved the Merger Plan for the new council.  The Merger Plan includes the Merger Agreement, By-laws and Amended Articles of Incorporation.  The Merger Plan will now be presented to all council voting members at the special meeting in August and September.

Again, new governance structures are being explored.  There is lots of discussion ahead!

The Board Development Sub-Committee has completed its work on the slate of members of the board of directors and board development committee for the new council.  These will be voted on as part of the Merger Plan..
