New Jurisdiction

  1. What will be our new name?
  2. The council is so big!  How will we be able to get together for major events such as Annual Meetings?
  3. Will we still have service units?

What will be our new name?

The CRC used the Kepner-Tregoe decision analysis process to determine three possible names for the new council from all of the suggestions submitted.  The three top choices were ranked and submitted to GSUSA for approval.  We have received notification from GSUSA that the first choice for the new council name is approved.  The new council will be Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland.  The other two choices submitted to GSUSA were Girl Scouts of the Missouri Ozarks and Girl Scouts of the Ozark Region.

Thank you to everyone that submitted a possible name for the new council.

The council is so big!  How will we be able to get together for major events such as Annual Meetings?

There are lots of options.  We look forward to videoconferencing and teleconferencing, as well as beautiful drives through the Ozarks, farmland, and communities.

Will we still have service units?

There will be a support structure for girls and leaders, but we do not know yet what that will be or how it will work.  The current service unit structure has been around for about 50 years, and volunteers tell us it’s time to think about some new options.
